I began my work with children as an instructor in environmental education programs, teaching children about how the world works. While most of the children enjoyed their experiences, some didn't, and it wasn't really clear why. I decided to learn more about how people work, so I went back to school and became a child and family therapist.
As I was working with children and families to help them solve problems they were experiencing it occurred to me that many of the issues that were causing difficulties for people, could be solved by teaching some basic life skills, so I developed programs I could teach to students in schools. These programs became quite successful, and ended up taking most of my time.
I shifted my focus to working with children in schools. I worked for several years in the Windham Southwest Supervisory Union as a behavior specialist. I became a guidance counselor at TVES, doing whatever I can to help children have happy, successful, life experiences. I'd be happy to talk to anyone about the services I provide and ways I can help your child.
